Her Vogue cover story was inevitable, and this post on that story, totally predictable! In fact, I made a plea back in September after Lupita's stunning red carpet appearance at the Toronto Film Festival. "Dearest Vogue," I began, "Please, oh please, feature Lupita in an upcoming editorial. She's not only beautiful and apparently a great actress, but widely acknowledged as a rising style star."

Statement validated and wish granted! Less than a year later, Lupita has an Oscar in hand, a prestigious contract with Lancôme, and this gorgeous cover story. Wearing looks by Vera Wang, Rodarte, Givenchy, and more, Ms. Nyong'o takes us on a mysterious journey through the Moroccan city of Marrakech (and I couldn't be happier).
