I often talk about my second home as a laboratory of sorts. It's a place where I can not only experiment with interior design, but also with the art of modern homemaking—a skill I've been trying to hone in recent years.
In pursuing both interior design and homemaking, there's a careful balance that one must strike between form and function. There is also a third, more elusive element that can make a house feel warm, inviting, and safe.

I knew that scent played a role in how an environment feels. I had studied this years ago when I was running my design boutique.

The Experience
Ordering from Homecourt’s website was quick and easy. I received my purchase within a couple of days of ordering, Cipres Mint Room Deodorant and Surface Cleaner. Each came carefully packaged in 100% post-consumer recycled materials, a plus in my book.
I will admit that each bottle was smaller than I expected. So be aware that you pay a lot per fluid ounce. But let me tell you why for me it was worth it.
Upon first smelling Cipres Mint, I was blown away by how delicate and distinctive it was. I have never smelled anything quite like it—miles beyond anything you could buy in a typical grocery or home goods store. It is truly a luxury product.
After nearly a month of using both the Room Deodorant and Surface Cleaner, I’m happy with my purchase. A few spritzes of the Room Deodorant transforms the mood of a space without overwhelming it while the Surface Cleaner elevates the everyday, mundane activity of cleaning.
Now, of course, it's not for heavy duty tasks. But to wipe down the dining room table after a meal or tidy the powder room for guests, it does the trick—all without the harsh smell of chemicals or low-quality fragrances.
